Bloodstone is a variety of Chalcedony. The small red spots of Jasper embedded in bloodstone resembles tiny drops of blood, hence the name. As a birthstone, it is associated with the month of March. It is polished into cabochons and used in rings and amulets, or carved into ornamental objects.
Sizes vary from 30mm – 50mm
